Wonder Wall The seven cabinets of the Wonder Wall were conceived as a stage for mini-exhibitions within Selfridges' Wonder Room. Opening with an installation by architect Zaha Hadid, the series has included; couture dolls by Dutch designers Viktor & Rolf; Unholy Relics, an eclectic anthology of objects and oddities that invite us to reflect on the meaning of the souvenir or relic from the collection of Trevor Beattie; and Natural History, a series of jewellery and objects by four young designers with very different takes on nature and artifice at a time when our relationship to the natural world is in crisis.

Zaha Hadid Viktor & Rolf Unholy Relics Natural History
At the dawn of the 21st century our relation to the natural world is being challenged on every level from genetic engineering to plastic surgery. Natural History brings together four young designers with very different takes on nature and the boundaries between nature and artifice: from biojewellery grown from donated bone tissue cells to jewellery that mimics body parts; from a fascination with Victorian taxidermy to a fresh look at that most traditional natural wonder, the pearl.
