In May 2009, the Brompton Design District presented Brompton Borders, bringing a contemporary vision of urban nature to an area of London renowned for its historic parks, gardens and squares. Events included a secret garden by artists El & Abe, a garden festival by Gavin Turk's artists collective House of Fairytales, and planted skips by RCA students.
