Liquid Sculpture: The Public Art of Cristina Iglesias, 2021

This monograph examines the outdoor water sculptures of the influential Spanish artist Cristina Iglesias. Iglesias’ horizontal fountains, submerged rooms and tropical mazes bring together language, architecture and botany to create immersive spaces of contemplation.

Jane has contributed an essay that joins a number of contributions from an international roster of curators, art critics, philosophers, architects and scientists who discuss the social and ecological potential of art in urban and rural space. Jane’s piece explores the broader zeitgeist effort to revive a forgotten relationship with water by refocusing our attention on water culture and water as a medium in the city.
