Brompton Design District Talks Programme 2018

London Design Festival 15th - 23rd September

The talks programme reflected our curated theme 'Material Consequences’, addressing waste, new material developments, and how designers are thinking differently about how we use and reuse precious materials.  At The Hourglass Pub, Jane Withers gave a talk entitled ‘Water Futures’, speaking with Corina Angheloiu of the #OneLess initiative. The talk asked how a city might change its water culture, and looked to initiatives that minimise plastic waste from water consumption. Other highlights from the talks programme included ‘Designing the Circular Economy’ with FranklinTill, and ‘Walk and Talk Waste’ by Studio 8Fold and Sophie Thomas.

The Pod from White City Place relocated to Brompton for the weekend, with a programme of podcasts recorded on the Saturday on Brompton Rd, and on Sunday for the V&A ‘Day of Design’ on Exhibition Rd.
